J. Alton Bauerle was looking for a fun way to attract younger residents to his apartment complex. With the initials "J.A.B." it only seemed natural for Milburn to create the phrase "Just-A-Better Place to Party," and print it on glass mugs.

The main character was referred to as "Jabbers" in all of the promotional materials.
